I feel most at home when I can hear the distant roars of
airplane engines at Baltimore Washington International; now known as Thurgood Marshall Airport. I've spent the majority of my life never more than 5 miles away from this airport
which is a bit ironic; I have the perfect opportunity to travel. It took me a
while to appreciate how lucky I am to live so close. When I do fly it’s nice to
know when I land, I really am home.

I live right down the road from the airport too and can also relate to having the luxury off being so close. Like you, I wish I could make better use of it and travel more. That's an awesome picture by the way!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this, though I don't live quite as close to the airport as you do. Visiting another country would be such a cool experience, but I guess it's just difficult planning to actually leave the whole country.
ReplyDeleteI love watching planes land and take off. I drive past BWI to get to school and I'm torn between watching the planes and watching the road. But I always thought it would be hard to sleep with those roaring planes overhead all the time. I guess you get used to it and even learn to appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't live that close to an airport (around 35 minutes from BWI), I know well the strangely comforting feeling you get when a plane flies overhead. I have traveled a fair bit in my lifetime and hope one day I can live my dream of traveling to Spain with my family. I also really like the picture.
ReplyDeleteWow, living so close to the airport must be a really nice feeling; I love watching planes land and take off. But isn't it a little bit annoying since they make a huge noise?
